How to unfreeze VideoCam Suite 1.0 on my pc?

I just bought a Panasonic hard drive camcorder and downloaded the softwear on to my pc but I connected my camera to my PC and tried to view some of my videos and now my computers frozen. any ideas on how to fix the problem without endangering any of the video on my camera's hard drive?
