Christmas decorating ideas?

Today my family went to go buy a tree and we usually have a really big one, but this year my mom wanted a little one. So, we bought it and took it home. Now she's acting all sad because she's disappointed in the tree. I decided to make some paper snowflakes to hang around the house, but I need more decorating ideas in order to make our house seem more "Christmas-sy" if that makes sense.
