Gateway laptop video recording question. why cant i upload to youtube ?

i have a gateway laptop. 6 months old. when i try to upload to youtube it never allows me . i should say there is no online site that allows me to upload videos. i can only record live to stickam.com. hy can i pload audio or videos recorded with this laptop??
