Help!! My iPod touch got wet! Can it be fixed?

I carelessly left my iPod touch in my sweater pocket and I forgot. So I washed my clothes and when I went to it myclothes from the washer to the dryer I saw my ipod. I couldn't believe I did that and I started freaking out. Now my iPods screen is messed and it only works if its plugged in. I'm not sure If I have a warranty and I don't plan on telling my parents this situation. Is there anyway of fixing it? Or just buy a new one?
