How outrageous and fun can college be?

I know it depends on which school you go to. I plan on attending a large state school and was wondering how crazy it can get. I have been to quite a few high school parties and the most that happens is two people hook up or someones parents show up. Do couches get thrown out the window from 20 stories above? Wild hook-ups? How much more variety is there in girls? Should I join a frat? I want the most out of my college party experience. Any advice or insight?
