I love to learn French and wach French movies. Am I normal?

I can't believe your family is culturally restricting itself on purpose. I think that this is totally normal to be interested in other cultures and other languages. Personally, I LOVE learning foreign languages and learning about foreign cultures myself. And I like French movies too. Well,... this might have something to do with the fact that I'm French ;-) , but I like foreign movies in general. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that!
