What is the diffirent between AWD and 4WD?

AWD (all wheel drive) cars are usually driven by all 4 wheels right out of the box. The percentage of power that drives the front or rear wheels depends on the driving condition outside. A computer calculates everything and distributes the power between the rear and front wheels for maximum safety. A 4WD vehicle is usually manually controlled. 4WD is usually found in bigger vehicles such as trucks and SUVs. These vehicles come as a rear wheel drive until manually adjusted accordingly.
