Vanilla Mastercard Balance Problem ?

I bought a Vanilla Mastercard last night around this time and I had put it into my PS3 billing info and it had not worked. I went to check the balance and it had said "Details cannot be found using the card number entered. Please re-enter or try again later". I had noticed that funds may not be available for 24 hours. i checked it again and it had said the same thing. I tried calling the number on the back and it had not helped because it was an automated voice. The voice said the card was unrecognized. Anyone have any idea whats going on?
